Our Mission
Creating Community Experiences- reflects Lincoln County Libraries effort to become the hub of the community through outreach, programming, materials and relationships.
The libraries partner with several government and non-profit organizations to fulfill the mission. Kind service is our method of elevating education and disseminating information to our constituents.
System Operations
Lincoln County Libraries (LCL) proudly belong to the WESTERN COUNTIES REGIONAL LIBRARY SYSTEM which includes Cabell, Lincoln, Logan, Mingo, Putnam and Wayne Counties. This means that all materials from all six counties are available to Lincoln County Card holders! LCL also belongs to WVREADS, the consortium that purchases downloadables for the group participants. This ensures economy of scope: more bang for our bucks.

HAMLIN-LINCOLN
Originally served by bookmobiles, the first storefront library in Lincoln County opened in 1972. A year later, an instant carousel was erected, and in 1977 an addition doubled the size of the building. However, the library soon outgrew that facility. In 1994, Hamlin-Lincoln County Public Library opened a brand-new building on 7999 Lynn Avenue. The library conducts library classes for schools in the area and has programs for all ages each month.
Hours of service are Monday through Thursday from 8-4; Friday and Saturday from 10-2.
